Diego Masciaga is recognised as one of the world’s foremost leaders in hospitality and service culture. Born in northern Italy and trained from his early teens in classical European gastronomy, he built an international career in luxury settings before joining the Roux family. Over the decades he has become known for an exceptional ability to combine flawless technical standards with warm, human-centred care. His approach, often described simply as “The Diego Masciaga Way” is grounded in anticipation, observation, memory, humility and a style of leadership that elevates everyone around him.

A legendary figure in his field, Diego has been awarded the Cavaliere Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana, Italy’s equivalent of a knighthood, for his outstanding contribution to hospitality. He is also one of only three people ever to receive the Grand Prix de L'Art de la Salle, alongside numerous other honours and accolades.

Today he leads Diego Masciaga Ltd, mentoring leaders, developing teams across sectors, and advising organisations on service excellence, culture and customer experience. His work reflects a belief he has held for decades: service is an act of humanity, not performance, and excellence becomes consistent only when people feel valued, trusted and connected.
